The National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society of ISA is a group of students from grades six until twelve who strive to make the school and island a better place. To qualify for the NHS and NJHS, a student must maintain a 3.0-4.0 average GPA and show three other important characteristics: service, leadership and character. To exemplify those characteristics, a student should:


  • Volunteers and is gladly available
  • Cheerfully renders any requested service to the school
  • Is willing to represent the school in any way
  • Shows courtesy and respect


  • Leader at school and/or community activites
  • Always dependable
  • Exemplifies positive attitudes and influences fellow peers positively
  • contributes ideas
  • loyal


  • Takes criticisms and accept recommendations
  • Exemplifies desirable qualities of behavior
  • Cooperates
  • Shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others
  • Demonstartes the highest standards of honesty and reliability
  • Follows instructions and rules
  • Helps rid the school of bad influences 

Members of the NJHS and NHS at ISA do many things around the school and island such as: helping younger children, volunteering at the YMCA, helping out at school events, volunteering at large events around the island, helping/gathering items for people in need, and always being a good example to others.
