Student Council

The Student Council plays a very important role in every school.  Through hands on experiences, Student Councils allow students to learn about government within a school environment. Leadership skills are developed and used by the students involved in student councils. Student Councils provide a systematic opportunity for students to share their ideas, interests, and concerns with their advisor. The advisor helps facilitate/direct the students to utilize appropriate channels of communication with their teachers and the school administration on many issues.  Councils help raise funds for school wide projects and initiatives.  They also get involved in community service projects that assist the community when they are in need of aid.  Being a member of Student Council help students develop into responsible and active members of the ISA community.

Selected Class Representatives:

  • Are elected by their classmates to representatives.
  • Attend after school or lunch time meetings as scheduled
  • Represent the interests of the student body in student, school, and community.
  • Work at special events
  • Contribute to selected community service project
  • Serve as a positive role model to other students
  • Maintain a positive relationship between the student body, administration, PTO and the local community.
  • Keep the student body informed of relevant issues

 The Leadership Team/Student Council Officers:

  • Attends extra planning meetings their advisors as needed in addition to the regularly scheduled meetings
  • Represent their classmates when discussing ideas and concerns
  • Select/organize/participate in selected community service projects. Provide services that improve the quality of life at ISA
  • Works / Organize special events
  • Serves as a positive roll model to other students
  • Maintain a positive relationship between the student body, administration, PTO and the local community.
  • Keep the student body informed of relevant issues
  • Serve as the chief representative body of students at ISA
