World Languages Thrive at ISA

Did you know that ISA is the only school on the island with both a Native Spanish Language Program and a Native Dutch Language Program? Both programs enable students to study their respective languages as they would in their home countries: writing essays as well as reading classic and modern literature. These programs enable students from Venezuela, other Spanish-speaking nations, and Holland to maintain their studies and re-enter their home country schools at the correct levels. Program success can be seen in our students Advanced Placement Spanish Literature scores. Of the seven students who took the exam last year, five attained the top score of 5, while two received a 4 (a mark of 3 is a passing score). These exemplary scores are the rewards for years of excellent study, and may be applied as college credit in universities around the world. The quality of our Native Dutch program in the high school was recently validated by the Dutch Ministry of Education, with ISA passing all 25 program criteria! We are very proud of our talented and hard-working teachers and students. In addition to our native strands, we also offer Dutch and Spanish as foreign languages. This year, ISA is reviewing the World Language Program to make it stronger than ever. Parent input in our review process is welcome and will be coordinated through the PTO.
