ISA has held a few small alumni gatherings in the last few years including when 12 graduates who are now at universities abroad participated in a forum at ISA to advise our high school students on the challenges of higher education and how to prepare themselves. Other recent alumni often stop in to visit when they are on the island and share words of wisdom with our current students. We invite all ISA students, parents, and teachers and those of the past to a special Family and Alumni Day on May 27, 2007. The PTA is organizing its second Family Day/Alumni Day at the new campus the afternoon of May 27 to include tours, games and activities, and a barbeque. More information will be coming soon via this website and local news media.
Recently ISA also came into contact with the Lago Bulletin Board, an internet avenue for
communication with former students and Colony-dwellers of decades past. This has been very
exciting as we began to receive messages with nostalgic memories and stories from graduates
as far back as 1948! We also keep an archive of the school yearbooks in the ISA
Library from past decades up to the current year.
We are currently in the process of developing an Alumni Database. We wish to receive email
information from former students and teachers at webmaster@isaruba.com
in order to expand our contact list. A future alumni link on our website can
become a vehicle for former school associates to get in touch again. This has
worked well for other international schools worldwide whose former students and
teachers cover the globe but can now communicate with ease electronically. If
students of the past would wish to organize a reunion type event of their
classmates at the ISA campus in the covered gym or multi-purpose room, please
contact us to help facilitate such an event.
The common bond shared by our former students who passed through the system of American and international education here is a love for the beauty of Aruba and the close friendships they form. Whether they attended during the days of the Lago School, the Seroe Colorado School, or the International School of Aruba, they spent time here during a significant period of their childhood. As the new campus has been built to strengthen and renew our educational setting, ISA wants to build its alumni network to strengthen and renew old ties. We value former, current, and prospective students, teachers, families. Please get involved in helping connect our former and current community members from around the world!
