PTO

The Parent Teacher Organization at ISA is an important component of cooperation and working together between parents and the school. The PTO performs several functions, including holding social gatherings to bring parents and teachers together, helping school personnel with classroom activities, events, or parties, and doing some annual fundraising to provide those special extras for the classes and programs. Meetings are held each month at the school and are open to anyone interested as all ISA parents and teachers are automatically members of the PTO. Parent involvement is encouraged.

In 2006-07, the PTO sponsored a Welcome Cocktail for all parents and teachers to meet ISA newcomers, assisted in the Library, have sold uniforms continuously, helped with hosting Tri-Island Sports Exchange, organized the United Nations Celebration and Parade of Nations, organized the annual Halloween Parade, cooked and served a feast for all students and teachers for Thanksgiving, sponsored the Family Bingo Evening, raised money for a new Sound and Light system, organized the PTO Art Auction Evening, sponsored Family and Alumni Day, Headmaster Reception, and organized other support committees related to various school needs.

Parent groups also help with logistic and culinary support for such special events as Aruba Flag and Hymn Day, the Dutch Queen's Birthday, and the Latin Festival. Parent volunteers continue to help make the difference in creating a community feeling at ISA and supporting teachers in providing the children with a complete education program.
