Academics

The International School of Aruba serves children ages 3-19 in offering a comprehensive American-based program with an international perspective as a non-profit co-educational English-medium school preparing students to enter colleges, universities, or other institutions of higher learning in the U.S.or Canada, Europe, nearby countries of Latin America, and elsewhere.

Within the school there is a Montessori pre-school, an Elementary division of grades 1-6, a Middle School division of grades 7-8, and a High School for grades 9-12.While each division has curriculum and learning activities corresponding to the age and level of students they educate, a special feature of a small school is that children across grade levels know and respect each other in a family type environment. Many of the teachers and specialists teach across grade levels and know and value all students at ISA.

Our students come from a wide diversity of ethnic backgrounds, languages, education systems, and nationalities.ISA considers this to be a resource and a strength of its partnership of student, parent, and teacher populations. In keeping with the Objectives as part of our Mission statement, ISA strives to:

• Provide an atmosphere in which each student develops a positive attitude toward learning and works toward achievement in all learning areas through an appropriately challenging curriculum.
• Develop and strengthen each student's capability to reason, solve problems, and think critically, and to cultivate an understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultural heritage of humanity.
